RASHAD - THE RETURN (VIDEO)
Shot in an abstract portion of Columbus, Ohio, wunderkind Rashad pictures an idealistic melody for the ladies with thought provoking rhymes for the fellas in “The Return”. The way he runs in, taking a one shot approach and then backing out as if he was warning us of something. Possibly The Museum which I hope comes sooner rather than later.

JIMMY HENCHMAN CHARGED IN 2009 MURDER
Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond could be facing the death penalty.
The music industry vet has been charged with ordering the murder of a man in 2009, according to AllHipHop, following up an earlier report by the New York Post that charges were imminent.
“[Federal prosecutors] are in the process of putting together charges against Mr. Rosemond for a death penalty-eligible offense,” Assistant US Attorney Todd Kaminsky told Brooklyn federal Judge John Gleeson, according to the Post. The charges allege that Rosemond hired two men, Rodney Johnson and Brian McCleod, to kill Lowell Fletcher, an associate of 50 Cent, who had reportedly been involved in an altercation with Rosemond’s son in 2007.
The incident occurred in March 2007, when 50 Cent, Tony Yayo and other men saw Rosemond’s son outside of his father’s office, and proceeded to rough him up, slapping him in the face, according to reports.
These charges added to legal trouble the the Czar Entertainment honcho was already involved in. Last summer, he was arrested and charged for his involvement in an illegal cocaine distribution ring, which was said to have been moving drugs between Los Angeles and New York. As a result, he has been sitting behind bars. It was around that same time, in June, that both Johnson and McCleod were arrested for the Fletcher murder, and have been behind bars since.

COLLEGE DRUG BUST LANDS 17 STUDENTS IN JAIL
A drug bust on and around the Texas Christian
University campus in Fort Worth Wednesday morning led to the arrest of
17 current students, school officials say.
During a news conference Wednesday morning, officials said those arrested sold drugs to undercover narcotics officers both on and off campus during a six-month investigation.
“There is no doubt, all of those arrested today, are drug dealers,” said Steve McGee, TCU Chief of Police. “These individuals engaged in hand-to-hand delivery, for money, with undercover narcotics agents. We will continue to work proactively to curtail drug use on the TCU campus.”
McGee said the investigation began six months ago after multiple tips were received from students and parents.
“This shows that TCU students, staff and the community will not tolerate this kind of behavior on the TCU campus,” said McGee.
McGee said those arrested were selling marijuana, cocaine, Molly (ecstasy in powder form), ecstasy in pill form, acid and prescription drugs including Xanax, hydrocodone and others similar to Oxycontin.
Investigators have not yet released the names of those arrested Wednesday, but did say those implicated were all current students and included four members of the TCU football team and at least one member of a fraternity.
TCU Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr. said the busts do not represent a football problem, but a student problem, and that it was shocking and disappointing to learn of the investigation and arrests.
In a letter to students earlier in the morning, Boschini said that the school has never experienced a magnitude of student arrests such as this and that those students who are involved were immediately separated from the school and subject to expulsion.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing and that more arrests are possible.

ALLEN IVERSON HAS NO ANSWER FOR FINANCIAL WOES...AFTER EARNING OVER 154 MILLLION DOLLARS HE IS GOING BROKE!
Hmmm...Are those the over priced Beats By Dre headphones around A.I.'s neck? |
Allen Iverson has reportedly gone from 11-time NBA all-star to financial deadbeat. The Philadelphia 76ers icon was recently ordered to pay over $860,000 to a jeweler, and he couldn't cut a check.
A Georgia judge has ordered the seizing of Iverson's bank account, so the relatively little money he has left will be garnished, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.
This isn't just another formerly famous athlete blowing a ton of cash. Iverson was among the biggest superstars in the NBA, earning more than $154 million during a professional career that began back in 1996. (This doesn't include endorsement money and other business deals.)
How did Iverson lose so much?
Loyal to his friends from a youth spent in Virginia, Iverson traveled with one of the biggest posses in professional sports. Bill Lyon of the Philadelphia Inquirer says the group has as many as 50 people for some Sixers home games. "A.I." took a hair stylist on the road with him and also loved to buy jewelry for himself and his beloved mother, Ann Iverson.
Iverson felt he owed his childhood friends from the old neighborhood because "They made me." The feeling was, without them protecting him from the mean streets, he would have never made it to the NBA.
Apparently they also unmade him.
Despite rumored interest from the Lakers, Iverson is more likely to find playing time and (more importantly) cash outside the U.S. in a place like Puerto Rico.

NICKI MINAJ OFFENDED THE WORLD AT THE GRAMMY'S! (VIDEO)
I didn’t watch the Grammys and honestly don’t watch any awards shows period, which may be adverse to my esteemed position as someone who should keep track of all things popular. Sorry, but watching the wrong artists get nominated, recognized and winning irks me so to save myself the frustration I choose not to tune in to these shows. Still, none of that has spared me from seeing and hearing about Nicki Minaj’s red carpet attire, which I’m sure there are some pissed off Catholics somewhere calling for her head on a platter. Rumor would have it that she argued with her handlers, who advised against the whole thing to no avail.
From what I’ve read and seen, Nicki also debuted a new song, “Roman Holiday*,” which I’ve included below for you, not me. Nope, I pass on clicking play. Never been a fan, never found her all that interesting (ass aside) and wouldn’t be the least bit dismayed if she joined Lil B in the “once was hot, now not” category. Seeing various outlets calling the song and performance “disturbing,” “confusing,” and “messy…and not all the enjoyable” let’s me know I don’t even need to watch. I never tried crack either but I’m pretty sure it’s bad for you.
So the title was culled from what I’ve heard others saying, which is Nicki Minaj’s music officially sucks and people are pissed because she wore a terrible dress. I already knew her music sucked but now I’m glad to see everyone else standing behind me like the Verizon man.

Apple stock price surpasses $500 for first time!
13 February 2012
Last updated at 12:50 ET
It caps a remarkable turnaround for the iPhone maker, whose shares were once worth as little as $3.19 in 1997, when it faced the possibility of bankruptcy.
Apple is now worth $460bn.
The company's revival under Steve Jobs, who died last year, came about first in computers and then the iPod music player, which was followed by the iPhone and iPad.
Last month, Apple reported record-breaking net profits for the last three months of 2011, up 118% to $13.06bn from the same period a year earlier.
The profits were the fourth-biggest in US corporate history.
Mr Jobs co-founded Apple in Silicon Valley in the 1980s, but was fired towards the end of the decade.
He was asked to rejoin in 1997 and changed the company's product lines, culminating in the success of the iPhone and its tablet spin-off, the iPad.
Apple is in an escalating patent war with rivals Google and handset-makers such as Samsung and HTC over their operating systems.
It recently filed a motion in US court that would ban Samsung's Galaxy Nexus, which uses Google's Android.
Apple is poised to announce the third generation of its iPad next month, reports suggest.
Meanwhile, the working conditions in factories that produce Apple products are to be inspected, the computing giant announced.
The Fair Labor Association will audit several suppliers, including Foxconn in China, at Apple's request.
Apple chief executive Tim Cook said: "Workers everywhere have the right to a safe and fair work environment."

The pair share a place in Pasadena, CA, and TMZ reports that one of Sinclair's family members called 911 claiming that Marston had attacked her.

REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER OFFERS KNICKS POINT GUARD JEREMY LIN A FREE ONE BEDROOM APT. IN NEW YORK CITY!
By Chris Yuscavage | Feb 13, 2012 | 1:38 pm |
If you live in New York City—or you've seen an episode of HGTV's Selling New York—then
you already know that real estate in the Big Apple ain't cheap. A
moldy, rat-infested studio apartment with enough room for a duffle bag,
two shoe boxes, and a twin bed will cost you more than a mansion in just
about any other part of the country. So Jeremy Lin might want to give Edward Mermelstein a call ASAP. Looking to cash in on the sudden popularity of the Knicks point guard who still sleeps on his brother's couch, the real estate developer just offered Lin a free one-bedroom apartment in the city.
"As a New Yorker, it's very rare that someone like Jeremy Lin comes along to electrify this city," says Mermelstein. "And this humble young man has excited all of NYC—and we love his energy. He's a hard working, passionate young man—and, as a NY Knick and Harvard graduate, I am sure it's not long until he'll have his own place to stay. But, in the meantime, I'd be honored to offer him an apartment for his use."
Hold up: A free apartment in New York City? Regardless of the fact that this is obviously a publicity stunt by Mermelstein, we have to believe Lin's trying to track dude down right now. Because, like we said, real estate in NYC ain't cheap. Hey, Jeremy: Kiss the couch goodbye!

WHITNEY'S BROTHER-IN-LAW INSIST DEATH WAS "ACCIDENTAL"!
Whitney Houston's brother-in-law vehemently denied today that the singer had any intention of committing suicide.
"Oh, no, this is accidental," Billy Watson told ABCNews.com. "She
wouldn't have left her daughter like that. She wouldn't have done that
to her daughter."
Watson, whose sister is married to Houston's brother, Gary, also said
the family is flying back to New Jersey from California today and
Tuesday, but there's no word on funeral plans.
Los Angeles assistant chief coroner Ed Winter maintained at a news
conference today that officials do not know the 48-year-old singer's
cause of death. He confirmed to ABC News' L.A. affiliate KABC that
officials found prescription bottles in Houston's hotel room, but said
there wasn't anything "alarming" or "out of the ordinary" about them.
They were all "pretty normal" prescriptions, Winter said, adding, "I
have more prescriptions than what was found in her [Houston's] room."
TMZ
reported earlier today that family sources briefed by coroner officials
were told Houston likely died from a combination of the drug Xanax and
other prescription medication mixed with alcohol.
Houston's aunt, Mary Jones, found the singer's body in the bathtub after
laying out a dress for Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party that Houston was
set to attend Saturday night, sources told TMZ. She attempted to perform CPR; half an hour later, at 3:45 p.m., someone from Houston's entourage called hotel security.
Investigators looking into the death of Houston have said that they will
be examining the pop icon's behavior in the hours and days before she
was found dead in the bathtub. They have already questioned the singer's
family, friends, and staff.
Houston's official cause of death will not be determined for six to eight weeks, pending toxicology results.
Meanwhile, Houston's 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown,
has been struggling with her mother's death. She was hospitalized
Sunday for "stress and anxiety," a family source told ABCNews.com. She
was released Sunday afternoon as her father, Houston's ex-husband Bobby
Brown, boarded a plane to L.A.
TMZ reported that on Friday night, Bobbi Kristina fell asleep in another bathtub at the Beverly Hilton. Friends had to contact hotel security so she could be removed from the tub.
Houston, who struggled with drugs and alcohol and entered rehab for the
third time last year, reportedly spent Friday night at the bar of the
Beverly Hilton hotel with a group of friends. She was at the bar for a
long time, drinking and being very loud, according to TMZ.
Houston gave her last performance on Thursday at Grammy nominee Kelly Price's party at Tru, a Hollywood nightclub.
"We laughed and we joked and we cracked up, and we danced and sang,"
Price said. "She was never more than two feet from me the entire night. I
gave her a hug, and while I was talking to her she said 'Give me the
mike.'"
"In retrospect it's a much bigger moment than I could have imagined,"
she added. "It was a big moment just because it was Whitney. The world
got a gift in that they got an opportunity to see her perform one last
time."
Photos taken later that night show Houston leaving the club looking
disheveled and disoriented. She reportedly had blood dripping down her
leg and scratches on her body.
"It was a great event and she left sweaty, and I have heard the word
'disheveled,'" Price said. "That's about right. When you stand for three
hours and in that time period you are dancing. You would leave a club
looking that way.
Price added that Houston "didn't look like she was under the influence
of anything. She drank some champagne and toasted Kelly Price's three
Grammy nominations Thursday night. That's what Whitney Houston did."

WHITNEY HOUSTON UPDATE: DETAILS OF DEATH EMERGE AS N.Y.C., GRAMMY'S PAY TRIBUTE

Some details have emerged after the sudden death of singer Whitney Houston yesterday, fueling suspicions that the singer may have taken prescription drugs before she was found dead in her hotel suite at the Beverly Hilton.
TMZ reported that “No illegal drugs have been found in the hotel room where Whitney Houston died—at least not yet—but prescription drugs were present,” specifically Xanax. The report also suggests that Houston, 48, may have drowned in the bathtub where her body was found, and Beverly Hills cops found “various pill bottles” in the room. Family members explained that the singer in fact had a prescription for Xanax, used for anxiety and depression.
There was no evidence that Houston was drinking alcohol in her suite, though the singer could have fallen asleep in the bathtub, possibly due to the pills.
Houston was scheduled to perform at a pre-Grammy party thrown by Clive Davis but was found at 3:30 p.m. unresponsive. The LA Times reports that Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen explained, “There were no obvious signs of criminal intent.”
Meanwhile, Gothamist reports that passengers on the 2 Train broke into Houston’s hit, “I Will Always Love You” (originally by Dolly Parton), in tribute to the late singer.
Beyond NYC, Recording Academy President and CEO Neil Portnow confirmed to MTV that a tribute to Houston will be performed at the Grammy Awards tonight, led by Jennifer Hudson and Chaka Khan.
“It’s too fresh in everyone’s memory to do more at this time, but we would be remiss if we didn’t recognize Whitney’s remarkable contribution to music fans in general, and in particular her close ties with the Grammy telecast and her Grammy wins and nominations over the years,” said Grammys executive producer Ken Ehrlich.

The
impact of Houston’s death has spread across the globe, and here in New
York City, citizens began to mourn and pay tribute as early as yesterday
evening. The Apollo Theatre in Harlem placed a simple memorial on their
marquee, reports Buzzfeed. The Apollo was the location in Houston’s video for “The Greatest Love of All.”Meanwhile, Gothamist reports that passengers on the 2 Train broke into Houston’s hit, “I Will Always Love You” (originally by Dolly Parton), in tribute to the late singer.

The
FBI files of Steve Jobs have been released, showing a man who commanded
respect as an innovator but was questioned on his honesty and morality.
The file was prepared on the Apple founder as he was
considered for a presidential appointment in 1991 during George H W
Bush's time in office.Documents also revealed that Jobs had been the victim of an extortive bomb threat in 1985.
Jobs' files note, too, his conversion to Buddhism and admissions of drug use.
The documents were made public on Thursday through freedom of information laws, and posted to the FBI's website.
'Questionable character' "Several individuals questioned Mr Jobs' honesty stating that Mr Jobs will twist the truth and distort reality in order to achieve his goals," said a summary of the FBI background check.
A former business associate who blamed Jobs because he had not received lucrative stock he thought was due to him characterised the Apple founder as an "honest and trustworthy individual; however, his moral character is questionable".
Others told the interviewer that Jobs was difficult to work with, no surprise given details of his volatile temperament that emerged in his biography last year.
The unfavourable comments gleaned during the background check did not prevent Jobs being appointed to an unpaid post advising the president on export policy.
Jobs died in October after a years-long struggle with cancer.
The interviewees' names have been redacted by the FBI, with the exception of Jobs himself.
The Apple founder admitted to experimenting with drugs, including LSD, in the 1970s.
Another interviewee spoke of Jobs' high-profile reputation within Silicon Valley.
Jobs was "not an engineer in the real sense", the source says, but "an innovative force within the technical community".

ROLAND MARTIN’S WIFE GOES H.A.M ON CNN & GLAAD!
Oh snap! This CNN, Roland Martin drama just got
worse! Now Martin’s wife is in the mix and she’s pissed! Despite
Martin’s efforts to repair the relationship between himself, the gay
community and CNN, Jacquie Hood Martin took to Twitter and slammed GLAAD
and CNN.
Jacquie apparently wasn’t too happy when she found out her husband had been suspended from CNN. Jacquie tweeted “@cnn @glaad uses our history to gain their equality & then stabs the point man in the back. Don’t ask us for nothing else!”
Coincidentally Jacquie’s Twitter account has been deleted, now many folks are claiming that her account was hacked. Hmmm…
Her tweets came soon after her hubby tried to mend fences by
releasing this statement…”I look forward to meeting with GLAAD in the
near future and having a productive dialogue,” Martin tweeted. GLAAD
replied and wrote, “@rolandsmartin We look forward to a productive
dialogue and to working together as well.”
We toldya Martin made national headlines this week for tweeting anti-gay and violent comments concerning a Super Bowl H&M ad featuring soccer star David Beckham. After issuing an apology to the LGBT community and to Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the network suspended Martin but he still plans to meet with the organization in the “near future.”
So far GLAAD has not responded to Jacquie’s tweets. When GLAAD issued a statement against Martin for his homophobic tweet, the organization also mentioned that Jacquie has “counseled many men and women to walk away from the gay lifestyle.”
Some folks are now pushing for CNN to give radio personality and tv commentator Michael Baisden, seen below, a shot! Would he be a good replacement for Martin. If you want to show support, tweet @cnnbrk & @baisdenlive, let them know what’s up!
What do you think? Is she out of line or on point?

SOUL TRAIN MOVIE IN THE WORKS?
For more than a decade, Soul Train creator Don
Cornelius labored to make a movie based on his influential popular tv
show. Those efforts failed, but his death from a self-inflicted gunshot
wound Feb. 1 in Los Angeles might jump-start interest in a Soul Train
movie and other ventures that would exploit the storied brand.
Soul Train, which Cornelius started in 1970, aired in syndication until 2006. Two years later, Cornelius sold the franchise to MadVision Entertainment and private-equity firm InterMedia Partners, which named the new venture Soul Train Holdings and retained Cornelius as a consultant. (In 2011, Magic Johnson Enterprises and Ron Burkle’s Yucaipa Cos. bought a stake in Vibe Holdings, the parent company of Soul Train Holdings.) Terms of those purchases were not disclosed.
Cornelius shot himself at a house he had owned and resided in since 1978 — a 3,000-square-foot Mulholland Drive property. Cornelius’ son Tony Cornelius says the Soul Train host, who was 75, had been upset over health issues and a messy 2009 split from second wife Viktoria Chapman Cornelius.
But he says his father had not appeared suicidal. “I can tell you, due to health, things like divorce and relationships, there’s all kinds of things that may trigger a reaction like that. But as his son, as one who was really close, I can’t tell you [why],” says Tony, one of Cornelius’ two sons.
On top of those personal issues, Tony says his father was dealing with a radically changing industry. He was “really catching up and trying to understand” how the franchise could move forward in the Internet era. A film could have introduced Soul Train to new audiences.
Producer Darryl Porter (Dead Presidents), a longtime Cornelius friend and business associate, says he and Don tried but failed to launch a movie with Universal during the 1990s. As recently as 2009, Warner Bros. showed interest in a project. “He wanted to do a buddy action comedy, like Rush Hour set in the world of Soul Train,” says a Warners source. But that project also stalled. Porter, who would have been a producer on the film, says a second script, which turned the project into a coming-of-age dance movie, “was not the kind of movie Warners was going to make.”
Tony says his father felt that overall, the franchise’s current owners have “done a great job,” though he adds that for the Soul Train creator, it was “very difficult to part with something that you started and be satisfied all the time.”
A private memorial for Cornelius is planned for Feb. 16 in Los Angeles.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed that this happens and its done right! Hate it didn’t happen while he was still alive

R.I.P. J. DILLA...10 FACTS ABOUT J. DILLA YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW!
Today marks the day that James DeWitt Yancey, known to music fans worldwide as Jay Dee or J Dilla, left this earth far too soon at age 32 because of complications from the autoimmune disorder lupus.
One of the most prodigious production talents hip-hop has ever witnessed, Dilla’s legacy was uniquely multi-faceted: hit-maker for the likes of Q-Tip, Busta Rhymes, Common, Janet Jackson, Erykah Badu, etc.; underground hero for his dual Fantastic voyages with his hometown Conant Gardens, Detroit crew Slum Village; sonic innovator, whose classic later efforts Ruff Draft, Jaylib (collaborative album with Madlib), and Donuts defined an aesthetic for a generation of listeners and beat-icians.
Indeed, J Dilla changed our lives. And in homage we present 10 Facts About J Dilla You Might Not Know about his storied life. Raise it up for one of the all-time greats. J Dilla 4ever.
His Father Ghost-Wrote “It’s a Shame” For The Spinners
The timeless 1970 smash single—later sampled/remade by “golden era” rappers Bob & the Mob and Monie Love—bears the invisible musical fingerprints of none other than Dilla’s Pop Dukes, Beverly DeWitt Yancey. Proof positive that musical genius follows bloodlines.
His First Job Was As A Junior Police Cadet
When he was a teenager, Dilla worked with the Detroit Police Department. But after suffering through one too many incidents of police harassment and racial profiling as a young adult, a fed-up Jay would record the classic single, “!! the Police,” in 2001.
He Studied To Become An Air Force Pilot
Jay attended Davis Aerospace Technical High School in Detroit for three years, as is detailed by writer Ronnie Reese in Dilla’s official bio. Though his aptitude for physics was excellent, as Jay’s mother Maureen recalls, “He hated wearing his Air Force ROTC uniform to school.” Plus, his heart was in music. By his senior year he’d transferred to Detroit Pershing, where his classmates included future fellow Slum Villagers T3 and Baatin.
His First Musical Mentor Was Amp Fiddler, Not Q-Tip
Though Q-Tip was responsible for Dilla’s first big break in the music industry—when the Abstract took a liking to Dilla’s beats after Jay passed him an early SV demo—he was not the fledgling producer’s first important musical mentor.
That distinction belongs to longtime Detroit singer/musician/producer Amp Fiddler, who’s local neighborhood lab, affectionately dubbed “Camp Amp,” was where Dilla first learned the ropes of production and studio work.
When A Tribe Called Quest and the P-Funk All-Stars (Fiddler was a member) were both on the bill of Lollapalooza in 1994, it was in fact Amp who hipped Q-Tip to Jay’s production prowess, making the introduction that forever altered the sonic landscape of hip-hop production.
NBA Star John Salley Once Managed Him
For a stretch between the formation of the quintet Ssenepod (i.e. “Dopeness” backwards) featuring Dilla, T3, Baatin, Waajeed, and Que D, and the classic Slum Village trio line-up, Jay Dee and T3 signed on with a management team, Hoops, composed of partners R.J. Rice (of ’80s R&B electro outfit R.J.’s Latest Arrival) and Detroit Pistons’ “Bad Boy”-era big man, John Salley.
According to Rice, a potential Hoops-brokered deal with Columbia Records for the duo fell through when the label opted to push Digable Planets towards Slum Village’s jazz-fueled hip-hop sound rather than sign Slum itself. Not cool like that, Columbia.
Biggie Once Recorded A 2Pac Diss Over One of His Beats
As legend has it in 1996 Dilla produced a track known as “The Ugliest” for frequent collaborator Busta Rhymes on which The Notorious B.I.G. dropped a guest verse. Only problem was this was during the ongoing and increasingly hostile Bad Boy-[rip] Row rift, and B.I.G.’s verse flagrantly went after 2Pac.
Busta apparently wasn’t too keen on the idea of getting caught up in the beef, and despite an attempt by Puffy to buy the beat from Busta for B.I.G.’s use, the song—which, incredibly enough, was also to feature Nas—never reached completion as originally conceived. Later, B.I.G.’s verse would be resurrected (sans Jay’s beat) for his posthumous Born Again album on the song "Dangerous MCs."
He Once Went On A “Date” With Lil Kim
As is very briefly recalled in an excerpt from Frank-N-Dank & J. Dilla’s European Vacation DVD shot in late 2005, while Dilla was on his final tour—with Frank-N-Dank, DJ Rhettmatic, and friend Dave “New York” Tobman: The Queen Bee picked up Dilla Dawg at Q-Tip’s house in the 600. They had Chinese food.
The Jaylib Sessions Were Recorded On Just Two Tracks
A fan of Oxnard, CA’s finest since his Lootpak days, Jay tapped Madlib for beats for Jay’s ill-fated MCA album. Soon afterwards Jay caught word that Madlib had begun recording verses over Jay Dee beat tapes, and had even pressed up a white label 12” of some of the material. Jay stepped to Madlib saying, "If you want do this let’s do it for real and put out an album." Thus Jaylib was born—a series of collabs that entailed no actual studio sessions, just raw 2-track overdubbed recordings sent back and forth between the two visionary beatsmiths.
He Didn’t Read Equipment Manuals
As Jay confessed in his final interview with Scratch in February 2006, he was self-taught on virtually all of his production equipment—a trait he adopted at the behest of mentor Amp Fiddler, who introduced Dilla to the MPC, but stopped short of showing him how to actually operate it. “‘Don’t use a book,’” Jay recalled Amp telling him. “‘You gotta learn on your own.’”
Chocolate Cake Was His Favorite
As reported by Kelly L. Carter of the Detroit Free Press, it was Jay’s favorite flavor ’til the day he returned to the essence. When Dilla came home from the hospital to his Los Angeles apartment in early 2006, and celebrated his first birthday in four years in his own home, his friend and roommate Common bought him a chocolate cake to commemorate the milestone.
His pals from Stones Throw Records, Madlib and Peanut Butter Wolf, also came by his place with a celebratory cake in the shape of a chocolate donut to celebrate the just released Donuts. However, Jay—weak from kidney failure and dialysis treatments after being diagnosed with Lupus—did not want his friends to witness his deteriorating health, and kept their visit brief.
He passed away just three days later. Rest[..]ured, however, that if they didn’t serve chocolate cake in hip-hop heaven before February 10th, 2006 they sure as hell did thereafter. J Dilla, R.I.P.

DAD KILLS COUPLE AFTER THEY “UNFRIENDED” DAUGHTER ON FACEBOOK
A father who was upset after a Tennessee couple
deleted his adult daughter as a friend on Facebook has been charged in
the shooting deaths of the couple, seen below, authorities said
Wednesday.
The victims had complained to police that Marvin Potter’s daughter was harassing them after they deleted her as a friend on the social networking site, Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece said Wednesday.
60 year old Potter, seen below, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in last week’s slayings of Billy Payne Jr. and his girlfriend, Billie Jean Hayworth. The couple was shot to death in their Mountain City home in the far northeast corner of the state. Their 8-month-old baby was found unharmed in Hayworth’s arms.
“It’s a senseless thing,” the sheriff said. Authorities have been involved other cases where Potter’s daughter, Jenelle Potter, believed she had been slighted by someone.
Marvin Potter’s friend, Jamie Curd, seen below, has also been charged in the killings. 38 year old Curd, had romantic feelings for Jenelle Potter, 30, the sheriff said.
Potter and Curd were arraigned Wednesday. Potter asked for time to hire an attorney while Curd was assigned a public defender who did not immediately return a phone message.
Assistant District Attorney General Matthew Roark said Curd’s initial bond was raised to $1.5 million while Roark agreed to put off a bond hearing for Potter until next week, when he is expected to have an attorney. Potter remains jailed on his initial $200,000 bond. The victims lived with Billy Payne Sr., who was the last person to see them alive. He told detectives he saw Hayworth get up to feed the baby before he left for work at about 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 31.
The slayings were discovered about five hours later when a former neighbor stopped by to pick up mail the family would save for him.
The younger Payne was found in his bedroom, and Hayworth was found in the baby’s room.

“WE DIDN’T STEAL FROM HIM” TERRELL OWENS’S EX-FRIENDS GO OFFFFF!
Oh boy! T-O’s got some explaining to do LOL! Monique Jackson and Kita Williams are pissed at their so called long time friend former NFL star Terrell Owens. The two were shocked when they watched T.O. claim he was betrayed by the girls.
The girls had been quiet about the drama up until NOW! The former
business partners of Terrell Owens are setting the record straight about
their ups and downs with their famous client. Check out what they told
THE INSIDER…..
TheInsider.com: How did all this start? Terrell says you double-crossed him.
Kita: He’s mad at everybody. We were friends first. People forget that. We were friends for 12 years. Terrell is the only client we had where we had a friendship first. The GQ article didn’t bother us (T.O. recently did an interview with GQ where he stated he was broke and had no friends). Terrell is typically known for running his mouth, he says things off the cuff, he’s mad at the world. It didn’t bother us, that article we knew about.
TheInsider.com: So what took you guys over the top emotionally?
Kita: His Wendy Williams interview. We didn’t steal anything from him. And he sat on that couch, and said a friend stole some money. People assumed he was talking about us, and he never really stated he WASN’T talking about us. So that’s how Wendy Williams made the assumption and went on her after show saying ‘Those two girls ripped him off! I can’t believe Mo and Kita would do such a thing.’ Having an opinion is one thing — anyone can have an opinion — but when you state it as fact now you are messing with my reputation as a professional woman. Monique and I have been in this business for over 15 years. Before T.O. And we’ve worked with artists from Ludacris, to Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Method Man and more. We worked for Def Jam! So for him to say something like that and not be clear — that’s where we got hurt. We’re hurt more than anything.
TheInsider.com: So just to set the record straight, neither of you have ever stolen from T.O.?
Monique and Kita: NEVER!
Monique: We have never! We’ve never stolen ANYTHING from Terrell Owens. There’s been always hills and valleys within our relationship. This isn’t the first time Terrell and Kita and I have parted ways with our friendship. Over a 12-year span it’s not a big deal. Where the hurt and disbelif came from is he put some things out there, and we know how media puts a spin on things, especially messy media. He was never clear.
TheInsider.com: Why does he think you were going behind his back?
Monique: My biggest issue is that Terrell knows we’ve gone to bat for him over the years. We’ve protected him like a brother, like a son. We’ve stood in the front line an took on war for him. He knows the truth, on The T.O. Show this last season, we sat on his couch in Miami and disclosed there was a friend who stole money! My question to Wendy would be: Why don’t you check the facts because you can Google it and it will show you there were court orders and documents, because Terrell had to sue to get his money back. It also was shown on The T.O. Show. Why would he sit on the couch and cry to us about a friend stealing money if it was us that stole from him?!
Kita: When we pitched The T.O. Show six years ago, when there wasn’t a ton of reality shows on Vh1, we pitched to several networks, and VH1 took a chance on us. That’s how Monique and I became creators. It was our idea. We became co-executive producers because we were behind the scenes doing everything!
TheInsider.com: So were you conducting deals without his knowledge?
Mo: We never brought Terrell in the beginning stages in any deal until it was time to sign on the dotted line and get the real deal going. Because at the time his focus was supposed to be football! There were other shows that we shopped for other people! He wasn’t brought in because: A) It wasn’t about him, and B) he’s playing football. Why bother him until it’s something we know is for certain? The paperwork that VH1 legal has shows he is involved in the deal basically for nothing other than his association as our business partner. If he wanted to know the day to day that’s a two way street. What he won’t say is when we were filming season two, we had a conversation in a parking lot where we talked about coming up with a production company of our own.
Kita: We haven’t taken a percentage from The T.O. Show from him directly, or the new movie he’s promoting which we got for him. There are some things as friends we let ride. We secured many deals that we didn’t talk to him about initially because it wasn’t set yet! Everything we do business-wise has always been in the preliminary stages beforehand. We’ve never excluded him, but we’ve always been excluded to be honest. We will negotiate for him without having to take money out of his pocket. So let’s be fair here. We haven’t been on his payroll since 2004! Monique and I are CEOs of our own company. We don’t work for T.O., we don’t work for Terrell Owens enterprise. We work for our own company. We have other clients! We have Johnny Gill as a client. We have other athletes as clients. Why wouldn’t we be making deals for him, other clients and ourselves?
TheInsider.com: Where does your relationship stand?
Mo: We’re estranged. Kita: We haven’t technically sat down with him, and we need to, and I hope the family circle can get back together. We hope we get back on the same playing field. We love him and we defintley want the best for him.
TheInsider.com: It seems like T.O. has a lot of drama in his life.
Monique: It’s hard for him to take responsibility for us, because it’s hard for him to take responsibility for anything else in his life, including his kids. With that being said, I’m hurt, but I’m not necessarily surprised.
TheInsider.com: Will there be another season of The T.O. show? Or a reality show in some capacity?
Mo: We’re very optimistic and we’ll know for sure very soon.
Folks I have to say it, the people over at VH1 are absolutely FAB at getting our people to become pissed at each other and then turn the cameras on for some great TV. So get ready for another season but this time ratings should be higher because now there is real drama.
