The X-Ecutioners vs. Da Beatminerz
Two Iconic and Influential Hip Hop Crews Join Forces for a Memorable Showcase
January 31, 2012- New York, NY: The X-Ecutioners and Beatminerz have announced that they are partnering for a once in a lifetime showcase. The event will highlight the key members in each legendary crew, and will even feature a few very special guest MCs doing short, but memorable cameos.
The upcoming showcase, which will take place at New York City’s Highline Ballroom on Sunday, February 12th, 2012, will be a unique celebration dedicated to two of New York City’s groundbreaking Hip Hop collectives; The X-Ecutioners for their innovative, trailblazing turntablism and Da Beatminerz for their production of some of the greatest songs and albums in Hip Hop history.
Mr. Walt and DJ Evil Dee of the super-producer team Da Beatminerz have devoted their expertise as producers, DJs, and radio personalities to the music industry professionally since 1992. The two are the geniuses behind Enta da Stage (1993), Black Moon’s introduction album, Smif-N-Wessun’s debut album Dah Shinin’ (1995), and singles for artists such as Naughty by Nature, Black Star, Eminem, and Busta Rhymes, just to name a few.
The world-renowned turntablists formerly known as the X-Men officially became the X-Ecutioners when they made the leap from being battle DJs to recording artists in their own right. Founded in 1989, The X-Ecutioners have included Roc Raida, Rob Swift, Total Eclipse, Boogie Blind, DJ Precision, and more, and are among a select handful of DJs who spearheaded the turntablist movement by taking the classic hip-hop techniques of mixing and cutting into a whole new realm of musical improvisation, working with a host of prominent artists in the process.
