OKLAHOMA CITY _ Kevin Durant nailed a three-point basket at the buzzer Thursday night to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 104-102 win over the Dallas Mavericks. Dallas, which hosts Toronto on Friday, dropped to 0-3 on the season, while the Thunder are 4-0.

MICHAEL JORDAN ENGAGED TO CUBAN HOTTIE YVETTE PRIETO
Basketball legend Michael Jordan proposed to Cuban hottie Yvette Prieto after a three-year courtship.
Publicist Estee Portnoy confirmed the news, first reported by WCNC in Charlotte, on Thursday.
Prieto was spotted sitting courtside at a Charlotte Bobcats game Monday with Jordan's friend and New York Yankees star Derek Jeter. The Bobcats owner got engaged over the Christmas weekend. No wedding date has been set.
Prieto, 33, and Jordan were reportedly celebrating the engagement on a private yacht in the French Riviera. But a spokeswoman told the new station the cruise report was not true.
This will be Jordan's second marriage. Jordan, who acquired ownership of the Bobcats in 2010, married Juanita Vanoy in September 1989, and they divorced in 2006. They have two sons, Jeffrey Michael and Marcus James, and a daughter, Jasmine.
Prieto, who was born in Cuba, is a longtime model who one dated Julio Iglesias Jr. In a cover story in the Spanish-language magazine Hola! in 2003, Iglesias gushed that besides her beauty “which jumps out at you, is her humbleness… I’m happy when I’m at her side.”
The Palm Beach Post has said the couple has been living in a modest, three-bedroom home in the Miami-Dade suburb Kendall that they bought for less than $300,000. Records show they took out a 30-year $196,000 dollar mortgage on the property.
About 10 years ago, Prieto filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, according to media reports. It seems she’s doing better financially now.

FRESH PRINCE ACTRESS SLAMS WILL SMITH
By Arienne Thompson, USA TODAY
Way to hold a grudge, Aunt Viv!
Janet Hubert, the actress who originated the role of Aunt Vivian on Will Smith's breakout sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air says he's not the Mr. Nice Guy that everyone thinks he is.
"He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up," she tells TMZ of Smith, who posted a photo of the former cast just before the holidays, hinting at a Fresh Prince reunion. "This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn't know the word."
So, why's she so mad?
Apparently, she blames Smith for her premature exit from the show after three seasons when she was replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reid. "There will never be a reunion ... as I will never do anything with a(n) (jerk) like Will Smith," Hubert says.

HEAT BEAT CELTICS ...ROOKIE NORRIS COLE ALREADY CLOSING OUT GAMES FOR HEAT
By J. Michael Falgoust, USA TODAY
It took all of two games.
Cole
had a breakout performance in his second game as a pro, scoring 20
points — 14 of the Heat's 24 points in the fourth quarter — to help them
hold off a late charge by the Boston Celtics for a 115-107 victory.
While LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh combined for 68 points, Cole closed the show down the stretch.
In his get-the-feet-wet opener, Cole scored seven points in Sunday's 105-94 win vs. the Dallas Mavericks.
Cole was set for his third game as a Heat on Wednesday night, at the Charlotte Bobcats.
"I
feel like the more games I play the better I'll get," Cole said earlier
this week. "This team has great veteran leadership so it allows me to
be comfortable out there when I know D-Wade and LeBron and Chris Bosh
have my back out there."
A 6-2 guard out of Cleveland State, Cole has yet to start. He comes off the bench behind starting point guard Mario Chalmers.
Chalmers,
however, was limited to 19 minutes vs. Boston and had more turnovers
(six) than points (four). Cole played 29 minutes and shot 8-for-16.
In
the win vs. Dallas, Chalmers had three points (making his only shot)
and played 24 minutes. Cole had seven points on 3-for-8 shooting and
played 24 minutes in that game, too.
"(Cole's)
not afraid of the moment or the competition. He's aggressive. He will
continue to learn. I don't want to cloud his mind with too many of the
details right now," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra
said. "He's very heady, mature, so he's picking up our system on the
fly. We have a lot of veterans who are helping as well. I want to make
sure he stays aggressive without thinking too much at this point."
Though confident, Cole insisted he would be patient.
"Spo
knows what he's doing. All I can do is work hard in practice and earn
my minutes. I'm not looking to be given anything," he said.
Before leaving the locker room Sunday after the Dallas victory, 17-year veteran Juwan Howard got Cole's attention and said something that reminded the guard that he's still just a rookie.
"What's up, boy?" Howard said, then tossed Cole his shaving bag. "Take this to the bus for me."
ADELE’S ‘21’ TOPS 5 MILLION SALES IN U.S., FIRT CD TO HIT MARK SINCE ’04
British singer, favorite for multiple Grammys, sells over 15 million copies worldwide

Adele is finishing 2011 — a year she dominated with two hit singles, award nominations and flawless critical reviews — on an even higher note.
The 23-year-old British soul singer has sold more than 5 million copies of her sophomore album, “21,” in the U.S., the first artist to hit that milestone in one year since Usher moved 7.9 million copies of “Confessions,” Reuters reported. Adele has sold more than 15 million copies of the CD worldwide.
It’s the cherry on the proverbial sundae for Adele, who notched six Grammy nominations earlier this month and is favored for Song, Record and Album of the Year.
The album sales data is even more impressive considering the increasing trend toward fans listening to music digitally, ordering one song at a time.
“In 2004, you had one massive album driving sales,” Nielsen analyst David Bakula told Reuters. “This year is similar in that you have one really great story that everyone is talking about.”
The success of “21,” named for the artist’s age at the time she recorded it, has also included two hit singles, “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You.”
Adele Adkins is now taking a break, recovering from throat surgery in November to remove a benign polyp from her vocal cords. The operation forced her to cancel the rest of her North American tour dates this year, MTV News reported.
The surgery, however, couldn't slow a musical juggernaut that has many critics calling “21” an album for the ages — not just 2011.
“From start to finish, it shows Adele in alpha mode, ready to outshout any big-mouth singer of the last two decades, from Celine to Christina to [sigh\] Whitney,” wrote the News’ Jim Farber in his review of the album.

JUICE'S JERMAINE HOPKINS ARRESTED FOR TRYING TO PURCHASE 200 LBS OF WEED...SAM'S WHAT THE F*CK! (IN MY JOE CLARK VOICE)
That's what Jermaine "Huggy" Hopkins, the fat kid in the film Lean on Me, famously told his prickly principal (played by Morgan Freeman) to get out of a jam in the 1989 classic.
The line apparently didn't work as well on the cops, who say Hopkins tried to buy about 200 pounds of weed from an undercover Maricopa County Sheriff's deputy.
Hopkins, who lives in North Carolina, got popped in Avondale on Tuesday when police found 200 pounds of weed -- and $100,000 in cash -- in the vehicle he was driving.
The weed, according to court records, was sold to Hopkins by undercover deputies just before he was stopped on I-17 near Bethany Home Road.
Police later searched an Avondale apartment that's listed in his name and found an addition 100 pounds of weed.
Hopkins most recent legitimate acting gig was a bit part in Law and Order. He also appeared in the hood classic Juice, and nearly a dozen other films.
Hopkins told deputies he arranged the weed deal so he could provide a nice Christmas for his family.
That's probably not gonna happen, though -- Hopkins was booked into a Maricopa County jail on two felony counts of possessing, transporting and trying to sell marijuana.
DALLAS MAVERICKS JASON KIDD'S 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER BACK IN REHAB
Yes, you read that title right. Jason Kidd has a daughter and apparently
she has a serious drug problem. 17-year year old Cheyenne Kidd was
recently released from a substance abuse rehab after entering this past
summer. It looks like after being out for just a couple weeks, she's
fallen off the wagon and has to reenter rehabilitation. She's hoping for
a March release and took to her Twitter to let everyone know that she was "simply stressed".
It's sad to see children battle drugs at so young of an age. When you're the daughter of a rich NBA baller I'm sure a lot of people would question what do you really have to be stressed about? Kids these days seem to be going through it.

CONSEQUENCE AND Q-TIP END BEEF
(via BallerStatus)
It's Christmas, a time to be cheerful and leave all the negative feelings in the past ... and that's exactly what former G.O.O.D. Music signee Consequence has done with his cousin/A Tribe Called Quest frontman Q-Tip.
According to MTV's RapFix blog, Cons and Q-Tip have buried the hatchet after a beef that has gone on for sometime.
Cons confirmed rumors that the pair had reunited in a recent statement, accompanied by a photo of the two together with his newborn child.
"After a very intense & extensive meeting, Q-Tip & myself have resolved our public & private issues," Consequence said in a statement. "With so many manufactured 'beefs' in hip-hop, this situation was very real and shows that their can be resolution through humility & dialogue.
"Check out this pic of us welcoming my son Caiden into our historic fold," he concluded.
Back in May, the Queens rapper expressed his feelings toward Q-Tip -- as well as Kanye West -- saying both failed to support his music career.
"As a man, you can't hang your fate on no other man, but when you think the man is your brother and you talk about every other single situation known to man, you would think it would dawn on somebody to say, 'Hey, let me make sure this all right, let me make sure my guy is good.' If I'm not your guy, that's fine; let's just have clarity on it," Cons told MTV.
Although he severed ties with Ye, Cons also revealed that he has communicated with the Chicago rap star and patches things up via email.
"I hit him, and he hit me back with one of those all-caps tirades," he said. "He was pissed and rightfully so. And I was pissed and that's why things happened the way they happened. ... He spoke his piece, I spoke my piece, and he told me he loved me. And the feud is over with Kanye."
Earlier this month, Consequence dropped a new mixtape, titled Curb Certified, featuring 12 track.

FLAVOR FLAV LAUNCHES NEW VODKA BRAND
Flavor FlavFlavor Flav has launched a new business venture in time for 2012 after he unveiled his newest brand, LeFlav Spirits. The rapper initiated the brand’s first promotional campaign on Friday, December 23rd, when he announced the company’s vodka line, LeFLAV Straight Up. The rapper and reality TV show star continued his promotional efforts on Christmas Eve at various liquor stores in Las Vegas including Lee’s Discount Liquor, Total Wines & More and all four locations of The Liquor Outlet. The vodka, which comes in a 4 carat bottle covered in Swarovski crystals, retails for $23.99 in Nevada, New Jersey, New York and California. Flav is hoping to expand the line’s flavors to include hemp juice, bubblegum, black cherry, vanilla and grape, while the beverage could be distributed in Texas, Florida, Illinois and Georgia early in 2012. Assuming the vodka sells well, the rapper could expand the brand to include other beverages such as wine and champagne as well as broaden the liquor’s distribution with a move to the international market. Flav drew crowds at several of the promotional events and encouraged his audiences to drink responsibly while toasting them. “This is huge for me, and the hugest part is seeing you people here,” Flav told fans at Lee’s Discount Liquor before adding, “This is a toast to the most ‘cuz you eat pot roast.” The rapper is also hoping to launch his own fried chicken restaurant in February 2012 with construction of the restaurant starting in January, although the rapper has already amended plans for the eatery’s original location. “I was looking at the Riviera, but now I’m liking somewhere else. I love the Riviera, but I feel like this will be a better, longer lasting location,” Flav said.

RAPPER YOUNG VITO (ACCUSED OF KILLING SLIM DUNKIN) SURRENDERS TO POLICE
ATLANTA – The man suspected of shooting an Atlanta rapper after an argument over candy turned himself in to police on Monday. Vincent Hardimon, known as rapper Young Vito, surrendered to police around 3 p.m. “We got a call from Mr. Hardimon’s attorney. They wanted to turn themselves in to me personally,” said Detective David Quinn. Channel 2’s Ryan Young was the only reporter at Atlanta Police Headquarters when Hardimon was handcuffed and taken into custody.
Police say Hamilton shot and killed Mario Hamilton, known as rapper Slim Dunkin, on Dec. 16 at a recording studio on Memorial Drive. Police pushed several witnesses to give more information about what happened inside the studio, and Quinn said they still need more information, even with Hardimon in custody.
“We did get some cooperation from witnesses but we’re still urging the public, whoever was at 1074 Memorial Drive on Dec. 16, to give us a call,” Quinn said.
Young obtained records that showed Hardimon was free on bond after police arrested him for pulling a gun on two women in April during a standoff.
RIM NOW FACES LEGAL CHALLENGE ON "BBM" TRADEMARK
TORONTO |
Mon Dec 26, 2011 5:32am EST
(Reuters) - Research In Motion (RIM.TO), still smarting over having to change the name of its yet-to-come operating system, faces a similar trademark challenge to its popular instant-messaging service BlackBerry Messenger.
The service, which allows BlackBerry users to send each other text and multimedia files and see when they are delivered and read, is widely known and even promoted by RIM via the shorthand BBM.
That has proven an encumbrance to BBM Canada, which measures radio and television audience data and expects its day in a Federal Court against RIM by February.
The company's chief executive, Jim MacLeod, said he wants RIM to stop advertising the BBM moniker but would also consider changing his much smaller company's name, for a price.
"We have to be practical, they operate worldwide, we don't. But we're not prepared to just walk from our name," MacLeod said.
RIM seems equally determined to keep using the BBM name and not to pay MacLeod's company anything.
"We believe that BBM Canada is attempting to obtain trademark protection for the BBM acronym that is well beyond the narrow range of the services it provides and well beyond the scope of rights afforded by Canadian trademark law," it said in an emailed statement.
RIM has launched its BBM Music song-sharing service in recent months, and heavily promoted third-party apps that tie into its instant messaging product, which boasts some 50 million active users.
BBM Canada was established in 1944 as the Bureau of Broadcast Measurement. It changed its name to BBM in the 1960s and to BBM Canada in the early 1990s, MacLeod said. The company, owned by a collection of broadcasters and advertisers, has annual revenue of around $50 million. RIM's sales were more than $5 billion last quarter.
"I'm sure to a really big company this looks like relatively small numbers, but to us it's a big deal," said MacLeod. BBM Canada employs around 650 people, compared with RIM's roughly 17,000.
Earlier this month RIM dumped the "BBX" name for its new operating system after being served with an injunction in a trademark fight with U.S.-based Basis International. RIM has renamed the platform as BlackBerry 10.
Industry Canada denied RIM's 2009 request to register the BBM trademark, saying the name was already in use, but has granted RIM until January 5 to respond.
BBM Canada launched its legal action late last year.
MacLeod said his company contacted RIM in July, soon after RIM launched a large-scale BBM advertising campaign. In response to BBM Canada's cease-and-desist letter RIM said there couldn't possibly be any confusion between the two names - a similar tactic was later used in the BBX spat.
RIM repeated that line of argument in Friday's statement.
"The services associated with RIM's BBM offering clearly do not overlap with BBM Canada's services and the two marks are therefore eligible to co-exist under Canadian trademark law. The two companies are in different industries and have never been competitors in any area."
MacLeod sought a meeting to discuss the issue with RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie several months ago, but said he has received no response.
McLeod pointed out that RIM had even taken legal action of its own against software startup Kik Interactive over its instant messaging service that includes claims of trademark infringement.
"It's a trademark they don't even own, it's ours," MacLeod said.
